Reducing our environmental impact with energy efficient products.
The energy consumption of Tefal products is
mainly related to their everyday use.
On average,
at least 70% of the carbon footprint of Tefal
products
is related to their everyday use.
This figure rises to 98% for certain
products such as kettles.
In order to reduce the
environmental impact of our products,
it is
therefore essential to work on improving their energy efficiency.
Any improvement, however small,
therefore has
a very significant impact on our environmental
footprint.
Our eco-designed products must
reduce their energy consumption by at least 10%
compared to a reference product in the category.
Our research and development teams design ingenious
solutions so that our products require less energy
thanks to optimised yield while providing same service as before.
We often compare products in terms of their electrical power.
However, it is essential to understand that at equal power,
two products do
not necessarily offer the same performance levels.
Low-energy bulbs, for example,
offer the same light intensity for sometimes 10 times less power.
To help you choose your household products, we
have introduced Effiwatts in our specifications
to
express the energy efficiency of our products
more clearly, and allow you to compare
the values
you really need to focus on.
These two vacuum
cleaners offer the same suction power (using the same protocol).
To do so, one needs 2100 watts and the other one 550 watts… much better!
Energy efficiency also happens at home and
on a daily basis,
when you use our products.
By putting a lid on your pot, for example,
the water will boil faster
and therefore require less energy.
