Yes, this means that you will be able to find your Body Partner weight and body composition data in the same place as your activity, nutrition, etc. data in the Apple and Google apps.
This means that sharing has been enabled for another profile in the same account and the same smartphone.
If want to share your data, you will have to do so on another smartphone.
Synchronising your devices with your mobile phone will allow you to check all of your measurements in the app.

Synchronising is easy: use your telephone with the Bluetooth® switched on and the Body Partner app open. Switch on your product and make sure that it is connected to your app. Your data will be transferred directly from your products to your app.

Do you not have your telephone nearby? No need to worry, you can register 10 measuring sessions per user on your scales and tape measure. The next time you connect, you can retrieve the data saved in your products. A built-in clock allows you to link the date and time of your measurements.
1. Make sure your product is turned on and near your phone.

2. Make sure that your scale/body shape tracker appears in the Bluetooth® devices on your phone.

If this is not the case, you need to pair your devices. Go to the "My Devices" menu in the Body Partner app and add the desired device.


3. Update your data: pull the tab down to restart product/app communication.


Please note: when measuring with no connection to a smartphone, if you take several successive measurements in less than 2 minutes, we consider that it is because you have made a mistake on the first ones and therefore only the last one will be kept.


If the previous steps did not work for uploading measurements from the scale to the app, you must:
• Remove and replace the batteries in the scale.
• The LCD display of the scale will light up.
• Wait until only the Bluetooth® picto flashes.
• Press the key (✓) for approx. 30 sec. until you hear 2 BEEPs.

Then for the phone:
• Go to the Bluetooth® settings (with the BLE on).
• Delete the Bluetooth® device that causes the problem (BFA_Bodypartner for the scale).
• Restart the app, then add the deleted device.


If the previous steps did not work for uploading the body shape tracker measurements into the app, you must:
• Remove and replace the batteries in the body shape tracker.
• The LCD screen of the body shape tracker will light up.
• Wait for the screen to turn off and then turn it back on.
• Press the key (✓) for about 30 seconds until the display shows "CLR".

Then for the phone:
• Go to the Bluetooth® settings (with the BLE on).
• Delete the Bluetooth® device that causes the problem (DTM_Bodypartner for the silhouette sensor).
• Restart the app, then add the deleted device.
No, your data will be stored on a secure cloud server. Consequently you will be able to find it on any telephone when you login with the same user account (e-mail/password).
Pairing involves connecting the scales and the body shape tracker to your mobile phone.
This action will only be carried out the first time you use the device.
Flashing Bluetooth® logo: this means that the scales or body shape tracker is trying to connect to your smartphone.
Fixed Bluetooth® logo: connected to your smartphone.

Following the update of iOS 11, some users equipped with an iPhone paired with an Apple Watch encounter difficulties pairing Bluetooth to Body Partner products. We have a reliable solution to fix this problem:

1- Unpair your Apple Watch:
• Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together when you unpair them.
• Open the Apple Watch application on your iPhone.
• Go to the My watch tab and tap your watch at the top of the screen.
• Press the "i" information icon next to the watch you wish to unpair.

2- Next, reset your products and phone to repeat a new pairing process on Body Partner.
Note: Cancel your appliances in the list of the Bluetooth devices.
> To have your products reset:
Scale
Remove and replace the device's batteries.
The scales LCD screen switches on, wait for the Bluetooth logo to start flashing.
Press the "V" key for about 30 secs until it beeps twice.
Tape measure
Remove and replace the device's batteries.
The body shape tracker's LCD screen switches on, wait until the screen switches off then switch it on again.
Press the "V" key for about 30 secs until "CLR" is displayed on the screen.

3- Pair your scale / body shape tracker (See the FAQ about pairing).

4- Pair your Apple Watch again:
• Turn on your Apple Watch.
• Hold your Apple Watch and iPhone close together. Wait for the "Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch" message to appear on your iPhone, then tap Continue. If you don't see this message, open the Apple Watch app, then tap Start Pairing.
• Hold your iPhone over the animation.
• Set up as new watch or restore from a backup.
• Then choose which wrist you want to wear your Apple Watch on. Read the Terms and Conditions and tap Agree, then tap Agree again to continue.
• Sign in with your Apple ID.
• Choose your settings (location services, route tracking, Siri...).
• Create a passcode or skip it.
• Choose your settings (SOS, Activity, compatible applications...).
• Wait for your devices to sync.
Your Apple Watch is ready to use.

5- Open your Body partner application.
Turn on your products and, on the application, drag the tab downwards to restart product/app communication.
Body partner products are now connected to your iPhone.
Pairing is the action of linking the scale and the body shape tracker to your mobile phone.
This action will only be done on the 1st use, directly in the Body partner app.

The scale:
Open the battery door, make a note of the PIN code, insert the batteries and close the door again.


Turn on the scale and press lightly on the platter.


To validate the pairing between your mobile phone and your scale, enter the PIN code in the pop-up window that appears.


Perform your first weighing operation according to the app instructions.


The body shape tracker:
Open the battery door, make a note of the PIN code, insert the batteries and close the door again.


Switch on the body shape tracker (ON/OFF button).


To validate the pairing between your mobile phone and your body scale tracker, enter the PIN code in the pop-up window that appears.


Take your first measurements.
1. Be sure to launch your Body partner app on the phone you have used to sync with the Google Fit / Health app.

2. The Google Fit / Health app is associated with only one profile in your Body Partner account. Be sure to view the profile synchronized in Body partner.

3. If you are viewing the profile synchronized with the Google Fit / Health app, you might not have data in the Google Fit / Health app among the data exchanged between these two apps (example: weight). In this case:
• Fill in information in the Google Fit / Health app.
• They will be automatically synchronized with Body partner.

4. If you do have data in the Google Fit / Health app among the data exchanged between these two apps (weight, body fat, hydration ...), you may have refused the transfer of this data during the synchronization request. In this case:
• Go to your Google Fit / Health app.
• Select the Body partner source.
• Change the read and write permissions for the data you want to appear in the Body partner app.
If you pair a new scale (or body shape tracker), the previous scale (or body shape tracker) will no longer be paired to your phone.

If you wish to continue:
• Make sure that the Bluetooth® on your phone is switched on.
• Go to the "Settings" menu of your phone.
• Go to the "Bluetooth®" menu.
• Delete the Bluetooth® device that is causing the problem ("BFA_Bodypartner" for the scale, "DTM_Bodypartner" for the body shape tracker).
• Restart the application, then add the new device.
To do this, select your profile, go to "Settings" and select the Google Fit / Health app you want to sync.
NB: iOS users can connect with the Health app, and Android users with the Google Fit app.

Google Fit


Health
By default, your data is private. All your measurements are connected to your account and are displayed on your personal control panel which password-protected.
In order to ensure the privacy of data between users, each account must be created with its own e-mail address and password.
If you have several profiles on the same account (e-mail/password), all the profiles shall have access to the account's data.
You have to go to history:
- iOS version: press on the data that you wish to delete and slide your finger to the left. A recycle bin will appear. Touch it to delete your data.
- Android version: press down on the measurement for a few seconds and the recycle bin will appear. Click on it to delete your data.


Notes:
When a weight reading, body fat mass or hydration level is deleted from the history, all of the corresponding weight readings are deleted.
Be careful, any deletion is definitive.
On your app, you will only see the profiles linked to your own account.
All objectives and different levels of support are developed in collaboration with a nutritionist.
There is no limitation.
On iOS, the pairing pop-up will continue to appear until the entered PIN code is correct.
On Android, you can enter the PIN into the screen indefinitely.

The app is no longer compatible on Android versions 4.4.4 or lower, because of reinforced data security.

As far as possible, we recommend that you update your device to a higher Android version or use another compatible device.

Updates will not only allow you to enjoy a richer experience with new features and compatibility with the latest technology, but will also protect you against possible security vulnerabilities that have been fixed in the latest versions.
To be fully satisfied with this appliance, measuring and weighing must always be conducted under the same conditions:
• Always weigh yourself in bare feet. Your feet must be dry and properly positioned on the electrodes. Beware that if your feet have too much hard skin the measurement may be affected.
• preferably once a week first thing in the morning,
• 1/4 of an hour after waking up, so that the water in your body is distributed in the lower limbs.
It is also important to ensure that there is no contact between the legs (thighs, knees, calves) or between the feet. If necessary, slip a sheet of paper between your legs.
Always keep your scale flat and do not place any objects on the platter.
If you will not be using the scale for a long time, remove the batteries.

If the scale is stored vertically with one or more feet in the air or if objects are left on the scale, the first measurement will be incorrect.
You may see an "ERR" message and a long beep at the end of the weighing operation. You will need to weigh yourself again.
To ensure correct measurements, you should place your scale on a hard, flat surface and not on a soft floor such as a rug or carpet.
Do not use the body shape tracker with wet skin (water or body cream), it may result in a false measurement and damage it.
Scroll through the profiles on the scales using the " >" key, then confirm your profile with the "v" key.
When weighing, be sure to step off the scale when your profile is displayed on the screen (or "NO" if you are an unrecognized user).
The scale must be used on a flat, hard surface (no carpets or rugs).

If the scale is stored vertically with foot(s) in the air or with objects left on it, the scale will have its first measurement incorrect. The scale therefore needs to be reset in order to perform a good measurement.
In this case, follow the procedure for performing a good weighing operation:
• Place the scale with all 4 feet on the floor in a flat position.
• Press down on it with your foot for 2s, without climbing on it, to reset the scale.
• Wait for the display to show 0.0kg.
• Then weigh yourself.

Weigh yourself under the same conditions. During the day, the weight variation can be more than 1 kg.
For a better follow-up, always weigh yourself in the same way. Preferably in the morning, naked, fasting and waiting at least 15 min after waking up.
Check that there is nothing under the product that is affecting the measurement and that the sides of the scales are not in contact with any other object.

The scales should be used on a flat, hard surface (not on rugs or carpets).

If the scale is stored vertically with foot(s) in the air or with objects left on it, the scale will have its first measurement incorrect. The scale therefore needs to be reset in order to perform a good measurement.
In this case, follow the procedure for performing a good weighing operation:

Furthermore, during the day, weight variations may exceed 1 kg.
1. On the app, delete the profile or the account.
- Case no. 1: there are several profiles under the same account.
Select a profile, then "delete my profile".
Warning: you cannot delete the main profile (the first one linked to the account) if you have not deleted the others.


- Case no. 2: there is only one profile under the account.
Go to "settings" then to "delete my account".


2. For the products, the devices must be synchronized again:
- Remove the batteries, wait 5 seconds, put the batteries back.
Warning: Removing the batteries will erase all data stored in the devices memory. In order not to lose them, remember to synchronize before removing the batteries.
- Restart synchronization to reappear the remaining profiles.
You have to select the desired unit in the app. To do this, go to the "Profile" section.
The next time you synchronise your products with your mobile, the modification will be applied automatically.

The only way to delete Compatibility is to delete the Body Partner app, accept to delete your data in Health or Google Fit and then download Body partner again.
Of course, you can connect again with the same account as usual.
Do not use the scale with wet feet, as you may slip, fall or damage the scale.

In addition, the impedance measurement will be incorrect.
For accurate and consistent results, we recommend that you use your scale under the same conditions and at the same time. Ideally, you should weigh yourself on an empty stomach 15 minutes after getting up, so that the water in your body is distributed to your lower limbs.

Avoid weighing yourself:
• During or just after heavy physical activity.
• Immediately after a shower, bath or sauna session.
• When you have consumed alcohol.
• When you have a fever.

To ensure proper monitoring of body composition, it is recommended to weigh yourself regularly, ideally once a week.
We recommend always using new alkaline batteries (LR03 batteries), and never using saline batteries (R03 batteries) or rechargeable batteries (HR03 batteries).
When changing the batteries, always replace all batteries with new alkaline batteries.
This does not apply to scales using CR2032 button batteries or lithium batteries.
You can clean your scale with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water.
Do not use a metal sponge or scouring powder. Never immerse the device in water.
The screen, the plastic shell and the tape: you can clean them with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.
Be careful not to soak the tape in water.
If, after following the instructions in the user manual, your scale still does not work, do not attempt to disassemble or repair it yourself and take it to an authorised service centre.
When the "Battery" logo appears, this means that you have to change your batteries as soon as possible.
If you have data stored in the memory, do not forget to synchronise your devices and your mobile phone to avoid losing any data.

After a certain time, if you do not change your batteries, you will see the message "BAT" and the scales will switch off. You will have to change the batteries to continue using the scales.
This means that the maximum weight of 180 kg has been exceeded. The scales are limited to 180 kg.
The weight is transferred to the app but the body fat mass and hydration are not calculated.
Reason no. 1: You have never synchronised your mobile phone and your scales. To calculate your body fat mass, the scales need to know your profile.
If you have not synchronised your scales with your telephone at least once, this cannot be calculated. In this case, please connect your scales to your app (Connecting section).
Reason no. 2: You weighed yourself with socks or shoes on. In this case, bioelectrical-impedance technology does not work. Try again with bare feet.
Reason no. 3: Your feet are positioned incorrectly on the electrodes. Stand up straight, centred on the scales, with your feet slightly apart.
The scales need to know your profile in order to calculate your body fat mass. Without this indicator, it cannot display your body fat mass.
To know your body fat mass, select your profile in the scales with the ">" key then confirm with the "V" key.

NB: The Body Partner Access scale does not have an bioelectrical impedance analysis function, so it cannot measure fat mass.
When you see the battery logo displayed on your product's screen, this means that you have to change your batteries as soon as possible (new LR03 alkaline batteries).

For the scale:

If you have data in the memory, remember to synchronise your devices and your mobile as soon as possible before changing the batteries.


If not, the data still in the memory will be lost.
1. Check that your smartphone's Bluetooth® is turned on.
- For Android smartphones: from version 6.0 onwards, in your smartphone settings, verify that GPS location is enabled in addition to Bluetooth® (a requirement of Android).
- For Apple tablets/smartphones: from iOS13 onwards, also make sure you have enabled the application to use Bluetooth®, check your smartphone settings.

2. Make sure your smartphone is connected to the internet.

3. During the pairing process in the Body Partner app, check that you have entered the correct PIN code located under the battery cover.


4. To restart the pairing process, go to "Settings" and select the scale or body shape tracker to be paired.


NB:
• Make sure your iOS smartphone version is at least 10.0 and your Android smartphone is at least 4.4.
• Check the compatibility of your smartphones: complete list of compatible smartphones
Make sure that your scales/body shape tracker appears in the Bluetooth devices on your smartphone.

If this is not the case, you need to pair your devices: go to "Settings" and select the scale or body shape tracker to be paired.

If this is the case, update your data on your dashboard by clicking on the "tab".

Synchronization is required to display the new profile on your scale and/or body shape tracker.
For this purpose:
• Make sure you have your phone's Bluetooth® switched on.
• Launch the Body partner app and log in to the account you wish to sync (if you are not already connected).
• Make sure you have your phone close to your scale and/or body shape tracker.
• Turn on your scale and/or body shape tracker.
• Synchronization is a matter of seconds.
• You can now select your new profile by clicking on the navigation arrows of your scale and/or body shape tracker.
First, try closing your app and then reopening it to restart it.
If it still doesn't work, you need to get your smartphone and products to "reset" and then repeat a new pairing process:

1. Delete your devices from the list of Bluetooth® devices that are connected to your smartphone.


2. To reset your products:
Scale:
- Remove and replace the device's batteries.
- The LCD screen of the scale will light up, wait until only the Bluetooth® logo flashes.
- Press the "V" key for about 30 secs until it beeps twice.
Tape measure:
- Remove and replace the device's batteries.
- The LCD screen of the body shape tracker will turn on, wait for the screen to turn off, then turn it back on.
- Press the "V" key for about 30 secs until the screen indicates "CLR".

3. Restart the pairing procedure.
With Android smartphones, it is not possible to connect two products simultaneously. You have to disconnect the first one in order to be able to connect the second one. You can select the product with which you want to connect via the bar at the bottom of your screen.
There are several reasons why your body fat mass cannot be calculated and therefore displayed:

Reason no. 1: You have never paired your mobile phone and your Body partner Shape or Body partner Control scale.
To calculate your body fat mass, the Body partner Shape or Body partner Control scale needs to know your profile. If you have not synchronised your scale to your phone at least once, it cannot be calculated. In this case, please connect your scale to your app (Connection section).

Reason no. 2: you are on the profile "No".
To calculate your body fat mass, the scale need to know your profile. Without this indicator, it cannot display your body fat mass.
To know your body fat mass, select your profile in the scale with the ">" key then confirm with the "V" key.

Reason no. 3: you weighed yourself with socks or shoes on.
In this case, bioelectrical-impedance technology does not work. Try again with bare feet.

Reason no. 4: you are equipped with the Balance Body partner Access which does not have a bioelectrical impedance analysis function, so it cannot measure body fat mass.
For children under 18 years old, the BMI is not calculated in the same way as for adults; we do not display this information.
If the "ERR" message is displayed on the screen of the scale and a long beep is emitted after the weight reading, the data will be deemed to be false and will not be stored or sent to the app.
Please reset your scale as described below:
• Position your scale with the 4 feet flat on the floor,
• Press the scale with one of your feet for 2 seconds to start the reset.
A reading error has been detected.
It is necessary to rewind the tape completely and press the ON/OFF key in order to reset it.
We have chosen to block the target setting for minors (under 18 years).

Fat mass can only be reliably calculated from the age of 7 years.

NB: The Body Partner Access scale does not have a bio-impedance function and therefore cannot measure fat mass.
This means that your scale did not recognize you.

Two reasons for this:
Case 1: my scale didn't recognize me although my profile is in the scale.
If your scale did not recognize you, choose the right profile using the navigation arrow and validate, next time the scale should recognize you.

Case N°2: my scale did not recognize me because my profile is not in the scale.
If your profile is not in the scale, it means that your phone has not synchronized with your scale. To do this, go to "Settings", "Add a scale" and the synchronization will start by itself.


This is successful if you see the following screen and all the profiles attached to your account are back in the balance.
Your profile name contains only 4 characters. Therefore be careful not to have the same as another member of your family.

You can change it at any time in "My profile".
Yes, a diagnostic scale measures the lean body mass and by deducting it from the total body mass, gives the overall body fat regardless of where it is located.
During the bathroom scale manufacturing calibration some variations could appeared from one scale to another. Some differences coming from these variations could appear if you compare your weight on two different bathroom scales.
Composed of body water, organs, bones and muscles, its role is not negligible on the daily energy expenditure.
The BMI is an international index, defined by the WHO in 1997.
The BMI indicates your level of corpulence and thus the risk of being overweight. It is measured as follows:


The BMI is very global and not very personalized. It does not determine the value of fat mass or muscle mass.
Our scales use bioelectrical impedance, also known as bio-impedance.

A sinusoidal current of low intensity is sent in your body, this current easily crosses the tissues rich in water (lean mass: muscle, skin...), on the contrary, it meets more resistance at the level of the tissues poor in water (fat mass).


The resistance thus obtained, coupled with equations taking into account your profile, allows us to calculate your lean mass.

The fat mass is obtained by subtracting the lean mass from your total weight.
Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.

Your scale and your tape measure have a battery life of approximately 12 months with LR03 Alkaline batteries.
For the scale, that correspond to two weight readings per week and per person for a family of four people.
For the body shape tracker: 1 series of 6 measurements per week per person, for a family of four people.

When the "Battery" logo appears, this means that you have to change your batteries as soon as possible.
If you have data stored in the memory, do not forget to synchronise your devices and your mobile phone so that you don't lose any data.

After a certain time, if you do not change your batteries, you will see the message "BAT" and the scale will switch off. You will have to change the batteries to continue using the scale.

Please recycle your batteries in the appropriate container.

• For the body shape tracker: there is no automatic user recognition. Users must select their profile on the sensor before measuring themselves.
If you cannot find your profile on the products, this means that it is not connected (see section on Configuring/installing).

N.B.: "NO" mode: this mode is the default mode when a profile is not recognised and, consequently, the measurements are not saved.

• For the scales: if you have synchronised your scales with your telephone, it will recognise you automatically.
If this is not the case, scroll through the profiles on the scales using the " >" key, then confirm your profile with the "V" key.

Your scales and your body shape tracker will recognise your telephone but you will have to synchronise your mobile phone again with your devices. To do this:
1. Switch on your product.

3. You will find your profiles on your device.
The scales can manage up to 8 users and store up to 10 weight readings per user in the memory.
The body shape tracker can also manage up to 8 users and store up to 10 measurement sessions per zone and per user.

Weight measurement is important but insufficient as it does not give an exact indication of the body shape. Indeed, it does not make the difference between body fat and muscle mass, and 1kg of muscle takes up less space than 1kg of fat:
- 1kg of muscle occupies 900 ml.
- 1kg of fat occupies 1111 ml (+23%).

Globally, our body is made up of 60 to 70% water, but water is mainly present in the lean mass (muscle, vital organs, blood...).
For example, body fat contains approximately 10% water, while muscle is composed of approximately 75% water.


The normal water mass values are as follows:
- Women: 45%-60%.
- Men: 50% - 65%.

Indeed, water is vital for the proper functioning of our organs and our metabolism, a drop of 2 to 3% in our hydration rate reduces our concentration and physical performance.

Be careful not to take into account your hydration level after an intensive sports session, as the loss of hydration is temporary and linked to your activity.
The body composition limits (fat mass, lean mass) given to you in the dashboard (deficit / balance / surplus) are set scientifically, to be personalized according to your gender, age and BMI.
The Body partner Shape and Body partner Control scales use bioelectrical impedance, also known as bio-impedance.

A sinusoidal current of low intensity is sent in your body, this current easily crosses the tissues rich in water (lean mass: muscle, skin...), on the contrary, it meets more resistance at the level of the tissues poor in water (fat mass).


The resistance thus obtained, coupled with equations taking into account your sex and age, allows us to calculate your lean mass.

The fat mass is obtained by subtracting the lean mass from your total weight.

As far as weight gain is concerned, it is very difficult to gain weight in a healthy way, without seeing an increase in body fat.
The calculation of your body fat is obtained by measuring the water in your body. This quantity of water varies daily by several litres depending on food intake, digestion, sweating, and impacts the value of the fat mass.

Short-term (< 1 week) fluctuations in fat mass are therefore essentially due to variations of water in your body.
It is essential to monitor your body fat on a weekly basis and at a fixed time, avoiding measuring it after sport or a meal.

Weighing in the morning at a fixed time is recommended.

Yes, the weight of the clothes is added to the body fat. For this reason, it is recommended to weigh yourself with as little clothing as possible.
The scale is designed to be suitable for most people. However, you should not use the scale if you have a pacemaker or other medical device. This is because the scale sends a small electrical current through your body to measure your body fat, which can harm or interfere with a pacemaker (or other medical device).
As a precaution, the use of the scale is contraindicated during pregnancy due to the bio-impedance device. However, you can use the scale as long as you keep your socks on. In this way, no current will flow through your body. You will then be able to obtain your weight but none of the other indicators of your body composition.
