You could use both types: loose tea and teabag (In this case, remove the tag and the string from the bag).
Descale your teapot regularly, preferably every 20 to 40 uses, and more often if your water contains a lot of limestone.
To descale your teapot:
• Use commercially available 8° white vinegar:
- Fill the teapot with 1/2 litre of vinegar,
- Let this stand for 1 hour cold.
• Citric acid:
- Heat up 1/2 litre of water,
- Add 25g of citric acid and allow to stand for 15 min.
Empty your teapot and rinse it 5 or 6 times. Repeat if necessary.
Never use other methods of descaling other than the recommended methods.
This is completely normal operation.
Your appliance needs to regulate the temperature to heat the water to the required temperature.
To do this, it stops from time to time to measure the temperature through the sensor located in the device.
This is why it stops from time to time during the heating cycle.
No, only use your teapot to heat up drinking water. Never add sugar.
No, only use your teapot to heat up drinking water. Never use it to heat milk.
• Disconnect it.
• Let it cool down.
• Rinse the inside of the glass pot with a wet sponge and wipe the plastic parts with a wet cloth.
• Put the brewing basket and lid under hot water using your usual washing up liquid.
• Always check that the electrical connections remain dry.
DO NOT USE scouring pads or any other abrasive liquid, especially on the bottom heating assembly, as this could damage your teapot.
No, only the brewing basket can be put in the dishwasher.

How often you descale your coffee maker depends on the hardness of the water and on how often you use your coffee maker. The following are tell-tell signs of scaling: the coffee making cycle takes longer, the appliance produces lots of steam, makes much more noise at the end of the cycle or stops during the cycle, this means that scale has built up in your coffee maker. You should descale your coffee maker between every 20 to 40 cycles or once a month depending on the hardness of the water.
Scale deposits naturally form in your coffee maker. Regular descaling helps protect your coffee maker and ensures it a longer life. It will also help maintain a quality of coffee that remains constant over time.
Operate your filter coffee maker for the first time without any coffee and with the equivalent of one jug of water to rinse it.
Use the descaling kit or some white vinegar:

• Use some descaling solution diluted in half a litre of water or use 25cl of white vinegar in half a litre of water.

• Pour the solution into the water tank (without coffee),

• Start the cycle (without any coffee). After 2 minutes, stop the cycle manually. Leave the coffee maker for an hour,

• Restart the coffee maker to finish the cycle,

• To rinse the machine, run 2 cycles with water but without coffee.

Repeat the complete descaling operation, if necessary.
When the "Réveil Café" app is open and connected to your coffee maker.
A programme setting is only saved by the coffee maker when the app and coffee maker are connected. If you have created a programme or changed a programme in "offline" mode, it will not be saved by the coffee maker.
No. Your coffee maker can only be programmed via the app.
The PROG button is used for:
– pairing (it is flashing. See the chapter First connection in the instructions)
– indicate if one or more programmes are saved (in which case the button is blue)
– erase all programmes in the coffee maker: by pressing and holding down this button.
No. Only one smartphone can connect to the coffee maker at a time.
1. Make sure your coffee maker is plugged in.
2. Move your smartphone closer to the coffee maker.
3. Follow the syncing procedure for your "Réveil Café" coffee maker.
If you are still unable to connect, it is possible that another electronic device with an active Bluetooth® function within approximately 10 to 20 metres is interfering with the syncing process of your coffee maker. Ensure that the Bluetooth® function of smartphones or other tablets in the vicinity is deactivated before syncing with your coffee maker.
Yes. The last information registered by the coffee maker will be those transmitted by the last smartphone connected. Each user should therefore select the settings he or she desires while taking into account the expectations of other members of the household!
If you press and hold down the PROG button on the coffee maker, the blue light will turn off (delete programme) and during the next sync between your smartphone and the coffee maker you will receive a message indicating that the programme settings in your coffee maker are different from the ones saved in your smartphone. You should therefore choose the programme settings that you wish to keep: those saved on your phone (the programmes that remain in your phone but are greyed out will be resaved in your coffee maker and become active again on your phone) or those on the coffee maker (which will reset programme settings to zero and deactivate the programmes on your phone).
1. Move closer to the coffee maker
2. Make sure that Bluetooth is activated on your smartphone and that your smartphone is compatible (see the section "Installation Preparation")
3. Make sure the coffee maker is plugged in and that the electrical outlet is working properly
4. Open the Réveil Café app. If you have access to the screen "Connect with your coffee maker":
i. Follow the instructions
ii. Press the "Search" button on the app screen.
Several options are possible:
1. Automatic connection
2. From the window "Request a Bluetooth connection": press "CONNECT"; you do not need the connection code
3. Notification: swipe down and press to activate the connection request window (refer to the step above)
b. If you access the app directly, see Menu > Settings >

ii. Several options are possible:
1. Automatic connection
2. From the window "Request a Bluetooth connection": press "CONNECT"; you do not need the connection code
3. Notification: swipe down and press to activate the connection request window (refer to the step above)
Note: Make sure you have the latest version of ANDROID™ on your Smartphone. Verify in Parameters > About your telephone > System update
If the programme settings on the coffee maker are erased by holding down the PROG button, each smartphone will receive notification during its next connection that the programme settings saved in the coffee maker are different from those saved in the smartphone. The user should choose which programmes to save: those on the phone (the programmes on the smartphone will be saved on the coffee maker during the connection) or those of the coffee maker (in which case the programme settings are reset to zero).
Yes. This can be done by syncing your app and the desired programme when you are connected to the coffee maker. In this way the device will save your programme settings immediately. You can also switch to offline mode and the coffee maker will activate coffee brewing at the time that was transmitted during the last sync. The app alarm is also activated since it is not linked to the Bluetooth connection but to the Réveil Café app.
Note (if the connection is lost):
–you cannot access the coffee maker's status (e.g.: on/off status of remote coffee brewing, the progress of the brewing cycle, etc.).
–programme setting modifications are not saved by the coffee maker.
The coffee maker is lined with scale. You should descale it.
The hotplate is used to keep the coffee at the required temperature while leaving the coffee maker switched on. This function is available only with coffee makers that come with a glass pot.
Yes. "Airplane" and "offline" mode eliminate interference between the smartphone and coffee maker but do not affect the programme settings that have already been saved. The coffee maker remembers your coffee programme settings and will activate them at the specified time.
N.B. If your telephone is in silent mode, your alarm will not be activated.
In the event of a power cut, it may be necessary to press the On/Off button again.
On models with a timer, the clock must be programmed.
1. A programme setting is only saved by the coffee maker when the app and coffee maker are connected and synced. If you have created a programme or changed a programme in "offline" mode and this new information has not been synced with the coffee maker, it will not be saved.
2. The coffee maker is not ready (water + filter + coffee). In this case, the coffee maker will activate at the programmed time and then, for security reasons, will deactivate since there is no water in the tank.
3. The coffee maker is not plugged in.
Yes. The coffee maker has a lighted On/Off switch that allows it to work without the application. However, only the "Réveil Café" allows you to take advantage of this coffee maker's benefits (remote programming and coffee making, SOS dosage, etc.).
1. Remember to plug in your coffee maker and activate the Bluetooth® function on your smartphone.
2. Move closer to the coffee maker and start the app
3. Press down briefly on the coffee maker's "Prog" button The blue light will flash for no more than 20 seconds; during this time you should connect your coffee maker to your smartphone.
4. NB: After 20 seconds, the coffee maker is no longer in sync mode. If you were unable to connect during this time, repeat the operation or see the instructions.
The machine remembers the program settings validated during the last connection to a smartphone. When smartphone N°2 connects to the coffee maker (the Réveil Café app is open), it will inform the user of previously recorded programming. The user may then decide to:
1. Use the program settings of smartphone (N°2) by overwriting the program settings of the coffee maker
2. Or to save the program settings already recorded by the coffee maker; the program settings of smartphone N°2 will not be recorded by the coffee maker and will be greyed out on the app
3. Or to postpone sync to a later time
To find the navigation instructions, go to MENU > settings > connect to coffee maker
Never put your jug or insulated pot in the microwave oven, dishwasher or on a hotplate.
Once open, the app automatically updates the time on your coffee maker. A message appears on the app to inform you of this update.
To verify that your Smartphone is compatible with Réveil Café:

see the list of devices compatible with the "Reveil Café" coffee maker:

• Apple: iPhone 4S and subsequent models

• Android™: Android™ 4.3 and subsequent versions

To verify that your Android™ smartphone is compatible with Réveil Café: Compatibility list.

Find a list of compatible Bluetooth SMART® devices at www.bluetooth.com.

Please note the coffee maker is not compatible with Windows Phone.
No. Bluetooth® should be activated to register or update the settings. However, once the settings have been registered or synchronised with the coffee maker, the data is stored. Therefore Bluetooth® does not need to be activated continuously.
No. The Réveil Café operates on the basis of Bluetooth, or wireless communication technology. It enables communication between an app and a device without the need for an Internet connection.
No. The "Réveil Café" app functions on the basis of Bluetooth, or wireless communication technology at a distance of approximately 10 metres (depending on the thickness of walls, etc.).
N.B. If you wish to create a programme setting in "offline" mode, you may do so by reconnecting to the coffee maker and indicating your new programme settings. In other words, you may remotely save the programmes that you must then sync during the next connection.
• The quantity of ground coffee is too large. We recommend using one measure of coffee (7 grams) per mug.
• The ground coffee is too fine ('Espresso' type ground coffee).
• If you use a permanent filter, do not use a paper filter as well.
• Certain types of paper filter (to make full-bodied coffees) can prolong the time in which it takes for the water to pass through the filter and ultimately cause the water to overflow.
Do not use your appliance. To avoid any danger, have it replaced by an approved repair centre.
Clean the anti-drip valve of the filter holder under running water, activating it manually.
The inner circuits scale up, water doesn't flow through properly, and flows much slower.
The warranty excludes failures due to a lack of regular descaling.
You can use a paper filter or permanent filter (nylon or metal). These two types of filter are sold in stores.
This is entirely dependent on taste: you can buy pre-ground coffee for filter machines from supermarkets in a variety of strengths and flavours, you can grind your own coffee beans or you can buy beans at a coffee shop and ask for them to be ground to filter consistency.
Insulated carafes should never be put into the dishwasher!
A plastic insulated carafe should be rinsed under hot water immediately after use.
Never clean the carafe with a dishwashing brush or any other object as this may create hairline cracks that can cause the glass to implode. A brushed steel insulated carafe can easily be cleaned with a dishwashing brush or similar object, even inside.
After following the instructions in the user manual for starting the appliance, make sure that your electrical socket is working by plugging another appliance. If it still does not work, do not try to dismantle or repair the appliance yourself, instead, take it to an approved repair centre
Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.
The glass coffee pot and the filter receptacle must be washed in the upper rack of the dishwasher.
Always keep ground coffee in an airtight container or seal the pack with a bag clip. Keep the container in the fridge to prolong freshness.
Medium to fine ground (but not too fine). You can also ask for "Espresso ground".
Depending your appliance model, you can buy it from an after sales service or from the "Accessories" section of the website.

First of all, carefully mix one litre of milk at room temperature with one whole milk yoghurt at room temperature. Then divide the mixture between the pots and put them in the yoghurt maker. Put the lid on the yoghurt maker, then plug it in.
Once plugged in, don't move the yoghurt maker.
Don't use your yoghurt maker on a surface that vibrates (e.g. refrigerator, dishwasher or washing machine).
The yoghurt maker does not need monitoring and automatically stops at the end of the programme. It can also operate at night.
The milk is transformed into yoghurt through fermentation at an ideal temperature and for a specific time; these functions are carried out by the yoghurt maker.
Milk is a fermenting agent that constitutes a natural "catalyst" which is essential for this transformation.
Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it. You should never put the body of the appliance in water. Clean it with a damp cloth, warm water and soap. Rinse and dry it. You can put the yoghurt pots, pot lids and yoghurt maker lid in the dishwasher.
No, with the yoghurt maker, you cannot make hard cheese.
Yes, depending on the model of your yoghurt maker.
Fermentation time too long, reduce the fermentation time next time you use the yoghurt maker.
For your yoghurt maker to work correctly, you should not move it while it is in operation, you should avoid putting it in places subject to vibrations or exposed to draughts. You must never put the appliance in or on the refrigerator.
Plain yoghurts can be kept in the refrigerator for a maximum of 7 days, depending on the freshness of the milk. The best before date for natural yoghurts will be the date the yoghurts were made plus 7 days.
Several possible causes:

• Use of semi-skimmed or skimmed milk without adding milk powder (the milk used on its own is not rich enough in proteins).
⇨ Add 1 yoghurt jar of milk powder (2 with skimmed milk) or use whole milk and a half a jar of whole milk powder.

• The yoghurt maker was moved, bumped or vibrated during fermentation.
⇨ Do not move the yoghurt maker while it is working (do not place it on a refrigerator).

• The ferment is no longer active.
⇨ Change ferment or brand of yoghurt. Check the use-by-date of your ferment or your yoghurt.

• The yoghurt maker was opened during its fermentation cycle.
⇨ Do not remove the jars or open the yoghurt maker before the programme is finished (around 8 hours). Keep the yoghurt maker out of draughts while it is operating.

• Fermentation time too short.
⇨ Start a second cycle at the end of the first.

• The pots haven't been properly cleaned/rinsed.
⇨ Before pouring your preparation into the pots, check that there are no traces of washing-up liquid, household cleaner or dirt on the inside of the pots.

• Fruit added to the yoghurt.
⇨ Try cooking fruits, or preferably use commercial stewed fruits or jams (at room temperature). Raw fruits will release acidic substances which prevent the yoghurt from forming correctly.

• Use the milk and ferment at room temperature or slightly warm (heat to 37°C or 40°C and measure using a thermometer). Do not use milk straight out of the refrigerator.

• Check the correct positioning of the pot holder (part 7 in the picture).
Caution: the pots must be suspended and must therefore not be in contact with the base (part 8 on the picture).

• You forgot to position the ring (part 12 on the picture) in order to elevate the 2 pots from the center.
Caution: put the ring in place before placing the pots.

• Express Yoghurts (programme P1):
- For this programme, in order to obtain an optimal result, we advise you to use only natural yoghurts as ferment and whole milk.
- Freeze-dried ferments are not recommended for this programme.

One individual pot (150 gr) of natural plain fresh yoghurt found in the shops (preferably made from whole milk), with the longest best before date possible.
OR
Lyophilised dry ferment or dried yoghurt culture (bought in supermarkets, pharmacies and certain health food shops). Use the activation time and quantity of ferment/starter recommended in the manufacturers instructions.
OR
One pot of plain yoghurt you have already made in your yoghurt maker.
WARNING: when you have made your first set of yoghurts, you simply need to keep one jar aside in order to serve as the ferment for the others. After 5 sets, the ferment should be renewed because after a while it becomes weaker and provides for a less solid consistency.

• Chips made with fresh potatoes:
- Put the fresh, uncooked chips in boiling water to remove the starch and stop them from sticking together.
- Dry them with a tea towel, then put them on to cook in the basket for 8 minutes. Take them out and wait for the fryer to reach the right temperature, then put the basket of cooked chips into the fryer for two or three minutes to brown them.
• For frozen chips, never add the chips directly to the basket or into the fryer. Remove as much ice as possible and dry them with a tea towel before putting them in the boiling oil.
• For other types of food to be evenly cooked, cut them into pieces that are not too large and the same size.
• Add the salt or seasoning to accompany the fried food at a distance from the fryer to avoid it falling inside.

Yes, however you do need to allow your jam maker time to cool down before starting a second batch of jam.
The most convenient way to use frozen fruit is to thaw the fruit first. You can use any of the thawed liquid from the fruit instead of water in the recipe.
Alternatively, use frozen fruit but add an extra 150 ml water. Also increase the cooking time by about 5 to 10 minutes, but check after an additional 5 minutes cooking to see if the preserve is cooked enough. It is normal when preparing frozen fruits for the paddle to stop turning for a while, but the fruit soon thaws and the paddle will turn freely again.

Wash the cut chips twice in a bowl of water before cooking to remove any excess starch. It is then essential to dry them thoroughly before cooking in a clean, absorbent tea towel and finally patted dry with kitchen paper. If you are cooking frozen chips you do not need to add any oil as these already contain oil and could make the chips soggy. If using the 2 in1 feature (bowl + tray) after the food is cooked on the tray, cook the chips for a further 2-5 minutes after you've removed the tray to make them crispier.

What is this body measure for?
To know if you have good bones!
This body measure evaluates the weight of your skeleton in your total weight. But most importantly, it reveals the variations in your bone density: this density increases until the age of 30. It then depends on a good intake of calcium and especially vitamin D, which helps to fix it on the bones.

How do I know how I'm getting on?
A sign of good bone health!
It gives a different range for women than for men based on weight. If you are at the lower end of the range, consult a doctor for a check-up: you may need a vitamin D supplement.

What can I do?
Keep an eye on your plate!
Bone density is the strength of its structure. Make sure that you always provide it with what it needs so that it does not lose density: calcium to build bone cells, vitamin D to metabolise and fix the calcium on the bones. One does not go without the other!

How can I do even better?
By having the right stuff on your plate!
This valuable body measure changes throughout life. In our diet, we need calcium (dairy products, green vegetables, almonds, mineral water) and vitamin D (oily fish, egg yolks). Add potassium from fruit and vegetables, magnesium from green vegetables, mineral water... and chocolate!

How do I make it last?
Sunbathe!
If you spend enough time in the sun, your body will synthesise some of the vitamin D you need! Enjoy oily fish, green vegetables, eggs, dairy products and mineral water, and be aware that excess alcohol, tea or coffee prevent its proper absorption.
What is this body measure for?
Knowing your endurance capacity!
It measures your number of heartbeats per minute: a good body measure of your cardiovascular health. It is your capacity for effort's metronome. At rest, it generally oscillates between 60 and 80 to 90 beats per minute. If your heart rate is unusually high or low, you should talk to your doctor.

How do I know how I'm getting on?
With good training!
Heart rate decreases with age or with regular physical activity. The more you train, the more you lower it. But a heart that beats at 85-90 will never go down to 60. It's a question of genetics: a much lower than average heart rate in a great athlete is one of the secrets of their performance.

What can I do?
Not get carried away!
The goal is to lower your heart rate through a combination of actions. Moderate your consumption of stimulants: tea, coffee, alcohol. Stop smoking and engage in physical activity such as walking every day. Plan time for rest and recuperation to limit fatigue and better manage your stress.

How can I do even better?
By checking the scale!
We do not do an effort test on these scales but it allows us to check what our resting heart rate is. When the rhythm is disturbed at rest, we speak of bradycardia if it beats too slowly (less than 50) and tachycardia if it beats too fast (more than 100), it is then necessary to consult a doctor to determine the cause.

How do I keep a good balance?
Don't overwork yourself!
Not everyone can have the heart of a champion. Make sure you don't get out of breath by walking briskly up the stairs or a hill, for example. Stay in control and don't try to increase your performance at all costs if you have a naturally high resting heart rate.

To clean the bowl:
• Open the appliance and fill the jug with 1.2 L of cold water from the tap (up to the MAX level). Do not add washing-up liquid to the jug.
• Put the top back on and plug it in.
• Press the "P4 - Easy cleaning" button, then press the "Start" button.
• The cleaning process will start: you will hear the motor for 15 seconds, then it will stop for 15 seconds and then start again. These cycles will continue for approx 3 minutes.
• When you hear the beep indicating the programme has finished, pull out the plug from the appliance and take off the lid.
• Empty the water and rinse inside the jug.

Do not immerse the appliance in water. Do not place the motor unit or the jug under running water.
If necessary, once the appliance has cooled down, wash the blade under the tap and finish by cleaning the inside of the jug and the motor unit with a damp cloth.
If there are still stains on the inside of the jug, leave it to soak for a few hours in hot soapy water, then remove the residue with a plastic scourer. Rinse the bowl.

NOTE: The appliance is not designed to be cleaned in a dishwasher.
The motor unit is not dishwasher safe. It must not be submerged.
To clean the motor unit properly:
• Hold it upright and slightly inclined.
• Use a sponge with water and washing-up liquid on the lower knife side.
• You can rinse the block under a stream of water, being very careful not to get water inside the electrical connector.
This is a temporary phenomenon, which has no effect on the lifetime of your device. It will fade or disappear after some use and cleaning (see "Cleaning the appliance").
• Soak for 1 hour (water + washing-up liquid).
• Remove the deposit with a spatula or wooden spoon.
• After emptying the bowl, rub the bottom of the bowl with the abrasive side of the sponge.
• If traces remain, use a steel wool.

You can use lemon juice, white vinegar or a dishwasher tablet dissolved in water (let it work for the necessary time).
After following the instructions in the user manual for starting the appliance, make sure that your electrical socket is working by plugging another appliance. If it still does not work, do not try to dismantle or repair the appliance yourself, instead, take it to an approved repair centre

This phenomenon is normal, the steam is released between the engine block which is waterproof and the bowl so that the assembly does not build up pressure.
Sometimes a few drops may form on the work surface due to condensation.
You can increase the quantities by taking care to respect the maximum level of the bowl.
You can reduce the quantities by taking care to respect the minimum level of the bowl.
To remove white traces or "rainbow" coloration from the bottom of the bowl, follow these 3 steps:
• Pour 10 cl of white vinegar into the bowl with the spindle and leave it for 1 hour.
• Empty the bowl and wipe the inside with a sponge.
• Rinse the bowl several times with clean water.

If you have opened the device during the cooking process for a soup recipe, for example, it is imperative to check that there is enough water left.
Complete if necessary, close the device and restart the automatic program.

If you have opened the device during mixing and the result is not satisfactory, close the device and run a "Smoothie" program.
For soup programs, milk or cream should not be added at the beginning of the recipe.
It can be incorporated at the end of the program. Use the "blend" or "smoothie" function to mix without heating.
The overflow sensor has triggered the safety, there are 2 possibilities:
1) The liquid quantity is higher than the maximum level. In this case, reduce the amount of ingredients.
2) The sensor is dirty, it is necessary to clean it before restarting the program.
The device does not mix in this program, you can cut the vegetables at your convenience.
The cooking time is fixed:
• 25min for Easy Soup and Daily Soup LM542 models.
• 28min for Daily Soup LM540 models.
